James started Agave in 2016 as a side project when he acquired 55 acres on the fast-growing northwest side of San Antonio. That first parcel became the Lost Woods campground, and Agave continues to operate it to this day. Since that time, James has led the development of multiple projects including storage, mixed-use, multifamily, single family, and retail.

With over 5 million square feet built on his watch, James Nichols has navigated many of the most complex problems and delivered beautiful spaces beloved by their end-users across the country.
